No Bones About It...
So, with Mephisto and Tyranus both dead, the only special troopers left on the field are
the four skeleton mediks, which the dragons proceed to lay waste to, killing all four of them,
but not without a few losses of their own. When the dust settles, only two dragons are
left standing, while almost 30 of the original 50 skeletons remain. On the subsequent turn,
the first of those two dragons is also killed, and the second one retreats to the relative
safety of the Nest. Before that first dragon dies, though, he succeeds in removing poor Ned's
head once again, after the medik had worked so hard to put it back on.

The final dragon retreats into the safety of the Nest, where it can easily pick off advancing troops.
unfortunately for him, there are 34 skeletons trying to get in. Coming through in waves of four,
the relentless flow of bones continues to pour into the cave. The dragon does the best he can,
getting 8 kills within the confines of the cave, but soon the onslaught is too much and he succumbs.
Thus ends the battle, with 24 of the 51 skeletons fully functional. It's
apparent that something isn't balanced here. The skeletons should likely cost a little more
than a standard trooper, because of their special regenerative abilities. Also, the damage on
the dragons should be bumped up, or the range increased slightly. We have to be careful with range
though, as we can't put the dragon's attack out of range of a longbow (12 inches).
Another idea would be to give the
dragons a true strafing ability, but neither Gino nor I are entirely sure how that would work.
We will continue to playtest the rules and see if we can strike up a good balance, then throw
both types of speciality troopers against a regular army to see how they fare.
