As their soldiers fall around them, Kenji and Mitsuo fight bravely with a pair of the wraiths. Parrying back and forth, the battles are intense. With a mighty swing, Kenji severs a wraith's arm, just as his father impales a second one. Both wraiths fall to the ground, dead.

With the surprising loss of two of their numbers, the remaining wraiths turn and escape to regroup and fight another day. The forces of the Stone Dragon Clan cheer their victory.

"We have won, father!" Cries Kenji.

"Did we?" laments Mitsuo. "We may have vanquished our foes, but our losses are heavy. This victory comes at a great cost to us."

"Tell me the bad news, Doctor."

"Well, including Magasashi, we lost 5 men in the battle. 9 others have been injured, 3 critically. I hope that they are going to pull through. My medical supplies here are limited, so we are going to have to return to Bricktannia East to restock. I think we may have to send some men back to the mainland to get reinforcements. If these demons return, I fear we may not survive."

"Have you been able to analyze the bodies of the wraiths? Do you know why the Jade Blades were able to wound them, while our regular weaponry did not?"

"I'm afraid I have no idea. The Jade Blades were forged with an alloy I cannot analyze. More research will be required to determine if we can duplicate the mineral content of them."

"Thank you doctor. Continue your experiments, and make plans for the funerals of our fallen comrades."

"Of course, sir."

"What's the news, father?"

"We need to redouble our efforts to defend this camp and find a more secure outpost. We cannot let this happen again."

"We've mapped the area around here completely. There's nothing we can do until the mist clears more."

"Double the patrols, and keep a very close eye on the beach area. I want to know where these Wraiths go."

"Of course, Father."

Mitsuo sighs deeply. "The Isle of Mist has just become a much less friendly place..."
