FireWasp

Captain Gareth Kovac of the Blood Moon returned to Riff Industries, requesting a small, powerful and versatile Scout Ship for his crew to use. The Riff Industries engineers developed for him the FireWasp, using technology appropriated via industrial espionage from Bioniclus Mecha Designs.
The FireWasp has four variable angle wings which can be positioned in a multitude of different ways. The main landingformation takes the lower two wings and uses them as landing skids. They can also be positioned straight and level for highly maneuverable atmospheric flight,in swept back modes for high speed atmospheric flight, or in any number of other positions for space and airflight.
After seeing the swords on the new Bionicle Toa Nuva, I knew I wanted to use them as wings in a space ship. Using the chest plates and shoulder pads as well seemed like a good idea too. Once the concept was in my mind, it only took a couple of hours to pull the whole thing together. The most notable thing about the construction is that, except for the inside tips of each wing, there is not a single exposed stud anywhere on the model.
