Deep Space Nine

The DS9 project is the most technically complicated builds I’ve ever had.  The overall model is 8 feet in diameter, 5 feet tall, and has approximately 75,000 pieces. There is a steel and aluminum framework holding it together, and about 50 linear feet of strip LEDs lighting it up. All told it took me about 2 years to build.

The model comes apart into 16 major pieces.  When it is put on display, it takes me about 10 hours to put together.
